Paatal Lok Season 2 A Distinct Possibility, Hinges On Amazon Prime’s Go-Ahead

By Rashmi Paharia - May 28, 2020 @ 01:05 pm

Paatal Lok Season 2 Paatal Lok on the Amazon Prime Video has taken the digital space and the OTT entertainment world by storm. Viewers have loved it, critics are raving about it, and rival media honchos are envious of the fact that the plum project landed in Amazon Prime Video’s lap. But the primary question in everyone’s mind is – will Paatal Lok return for a Season 2?

Anushka Sharma, producer of Paatal Lok, certainly thinks so. Clean Slate Filmz, the production house run by Anushka Sharma with brother Karnesh Sharma, is keen to take forward Paatal Lok for a Season 2. She is understandably euphoric about the overwhelming appreciation that Paatal Lok has received from critics and audiences. But a sequel to the show all depends on Amazon Prime Video, the OTT platform that hosted the show.

Shared Anushka Sharma, in an electronic interview with PTI, “You have to wait and watch to know more about season two. I don’t want to divulge too much but let’s just say it’s quite possible. It’s too early to talk about it but yes if Amazon is willing to do it, definitely there will be a second season.”

The last line of Anushka‘s aforementioned statement is certain to thrill fans of the show. Paatal Lok, created by Sudip Sharma, has sent lovers of OTT content into orgasmic delight with its dark, twisted, edgy story that encompasses a myriad of layers, nuances and issues plaguing our country today. It has also been mired in its own share of controversies, with several cases filed against it for alleged misdemeanours.

The ending of Paatal Lok is inconclusive and ambiguous, and fertile ground for a sequel. If the creators would like to take the story forward, that is.

Stay tuned to Binged.com for any updates that come up regarding Paatal Lok Season 2.
