Avinash Arun is a popular name in the Indian entertain industry. The talented artist is well known for his works as Director of Photography (DoP) for several movies like Drishyam, Masaan, Karwana. But recently Arun got huge acclaim for his work as the director of Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Paatal Lok’. The crime drama series starred Jaideep Ahlawat, Neeraj Kabi, Abhishek Banerjee and others. The show became one of the top watched from the streaming giant and became a monstrous hit. Now Avinash Arun will be teaming again with Prime Video India for a new web series named as ‘Crash Course’.
The premise of the series looks intriguing. ‘Crash Course’ will follow the the city of Kota in Rajasthan. Since Kota is also known as the study hub of India where thousands of students come to study for competitive examinations, the show will focus on the story of IIT aspirants.
The name, the setting will surely make you remember TVF’S Kota Factory, but the makers have confirmed for the fact that despite several content being made on the similar topics since past few years, ‘Crash Course’ will be different from the others. Amazon Prime Video holds two shows on the similar genre with Lakhon Mein Ek and Hostel Daze and Crash Course is likely to become it’s third.
Talking about the cast of the show, it was recently announced that the veteran actor Annu Kapoor will be seeing playing a pivotal role in the series. Kapoor was last seen in the period drama from Alt Balaji and Zee5 – Paurashpur.
Seeing the response Kota Factory got in particular, it will be a solid show for Prime Video if they actually nail the content. Since the content based on students life grabs the attention of the audience, Crash Course might become another feather in the cap for Amazon Prime Video.
