Paddington In Peru To Commence Production On This Date

According to Deadline, a third Paddington film will begin production on July 24. The long-awaited threequel is coming to fruition after a six-year-long hiatus. In June last year, StudioCanal announced that the upcoming film’s title was “Paddington In Peru”. Additionally, Dougal Wilson replaced previous films’ helmer, Paul King, to direct the third entry. King could not perform his directional duties in Paddington 3 due to his commitment to Wonka, starring Timothee Chalamet.

The upcoming Paddington instalment will take the beloved character to Peru, the place of his birth. More details about the film’s plot are yet to come out. This news came amidst the chaos made by Ben Winshaw in February this year when he revealed that he had yet to see a script and was unsure about the film’s development.

The duo of StudioCanal and Heyday Films is returning to produce Paddington In Peru. The latter studio is globally prominent for bankrolling the Harry Potter franchise and the Fantastic Beasts films.

The previous two Paddington flicks have grossed more than $500 million worldwide and earned strong critical responses upon their respective theatrical releases, not to mention their BAFTA nominations.

In 2022, Paddington shared the screen with the late Queen Elizabeth II in a short film, where they both had a nice chat and shared their mutual love for marmalade sandwiches.

Are you guys excited about Paddington In Peru? Will it outperform its predecessors in terms of box-office collections and critical reception? Or will it fail to match their standards? Dougal Wilson will make his feature directional debut with the forthcoming Paddington project. Stay tuned for more updates.
