Prime Video sprung a surprise on its subscribers this afternoon. The streaming giant announced the release date of the much-awaited Panchayat Season 2 – just like that, out of the blue! No hint, no teaser, just wham! And the Panchayat new season release date is out! Not to keep you waiting, Panchayat Season 2 arrives on Prime Video this month itself, on May 20!
Prime Video announced the Panchayat Season 2 release date with a short but cute video. The scene was lifted from the finale episode of Panchayat Season 1, when Jitendra Kumar’s Abhishek Tripathi is atop the village water tank tower, and finally meets Pinky, the daughter of Pradhan Manju Devi and ‘Pradhan Pati’ Brij Bhushan Dubey. Panchayat is a coming-of-age series that depicts the struggles of a Young CAT aspirant Abhishek Tripathi, who’s stuck with a mediocre job in small town Uttar Pradesh. The series is a heartwarming tale of how his tiny deeds spearhead women’s empowerment in the village. The show is from The Viral Fever, masters of slice-of-life shows rooted in the Indian way of life.
Panchayat features Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Biswapati Sarkar and Chandan Roy in pivotal roles.
