Paul Thomas Anderson’s Next Movie Starring Leonardo DiCaprio Gets New Title

A new update about Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming movie with Leonardo DiCaprio has surfaced. The project reportedly has received a new title, The Battle of Baktin Cross. It was previously titled BC Project. Apart from The Revenant actor, the movie stars Regina King, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Wood Harris, Teyana Taylor, and Benicio Del Toro.

Some reports have also revealed intriguing details about PTC’s next collaboration with DiCaprio. The director’s next project will have elements of the sci-fi genre. He is said to have been inspired by the 1984 cult classic ‘Repo Man’ and ‘Vineland’ for the movie.

The project’s budget originally stood at $115 million. However, Warner Bros have greenlit a whopping $175 million budget for PTC’s next project, according to World of Reel. Moreover, this project is expected to have plenty of action, violence, and car chase sequences. In other words, we can call it the most mainstream project of PTC’s career.

The movie’s plot is also kinda bonkers. Sean Penn is rumoured to play the bad guy in this one. He will play the leader of a white supremacist group who tries to kill his interracial child he had in the 1960s with Hall’s character. DiCaprio will portray the adoptive father. The movie will come out in theatres globally on August 8, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
