‘Peacemaker’ Becomes 2nd Show From 2022 To Enter IMDb Top 250 List

James Gunn’s DCEU superhero series ‘Peacemaker’ starring John Cena has got a big thumbs-up from fans and critics globally, ever since it started streaming in many parts of the world last month (sadly, excluding India). The eight-part ‘The Suicide Squad’ spin-off show came to its conclusion last Thursday and has already been renewed for a second season at HBO Max.

In a piece of fantastic news for ‘Peacemaker’ admirers, the series has now made its way to the coveted IMDb top 250 TV shows list. This makes it the only show on the IMDb list from the year 2022 alongside ‘The Legend of Vox Machina’ to achieve the feat. Currently, the ‘Peacemaker’ series holds an impressive 8.5 rating on IMDb based on around 52 thousand votes.

So, until now in 2022, just these two titles ‘Peacemaker’ and ‘The Legend of Vox Machina’ are on the IMDb top TV shows list. As far as the year 2021 is concerned, the titles which made it to the aforesaid list are ‘It’s a Sin’, animated show ‘Invincibles’, Indian show ‘Aspirants’, Kate Winslet starrer ‘Mare of Easttown’, ‘Clarkson’s Farm’, ‘Dopesick’, ‘Arcane’, ‘The Beatles: Get Back’, and ‘1883’.

Besides, Peacemaker’s immense popularity is corroborated by the fact that the show was purportedly the most talked about in the last seven days, thereby beating HBO’s Zendaya starrer critically acclaimed ‘Euphoria’ series by a huge margin.

Moreover, ‘Peacemaker’ currently holds a 95% Tomatometer score and an 88% average audience score on popular reviews aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes based on 75 critic ratings and more than 1300 user ratings, respectively.

Created by James Gunn, the ‘Peacemaker’ show is set after the events of his own film ‘The Suicide Squad’ and follows the journey of the adorably eccentric anti-hero Christopher Smith aka Peacemaker, who is enlisted for a world-saving mission called Project Butterfly with a black-ops team. It’s currently not streaming anywhere in India though.
