Netflix and Steven Knight are now working on a new series; they will be exploring the Guinness family, one of the largest business dynasties of Europe.
Set to film this summer, the upcoming series delves into the aftermath of brewery magnate Benjamin Guinness’s demise, exploring how his shrewd legacy shapes the destinies of his four adult offspring—Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben—alongside the stout brand’s workers in the 19th century.
Speaking at the ‘Next on Netflix’ preview in London today, Anne Mensah, head of content for Netflix UK and Ireland, expressed her excitement about bringing the characters to life for the world to see, stating that she has always been fascinated by their stories.
Anne also mentioned that the series is set in both the UK and the US, emphasizing their anticipation to see it realized, noting its similarity to the power of Peaky Blinders coupled with the scale and sweep of a true family saga.
Will it be as exciting as Peaky Blinders? Only time will tell, but as of now, the hype is definitely real. Good makers don’t always ensure hit series, just see the reception of 1899 after Dark, but we can just wait..
