“Season 6” of the gangster family epic “Peaky Blinders” will be dropped on Netflix, starting it’s streaming from June 10 in all markets where Netflix have the show’s rights. Season 6 is supposed to be the last season of this hit drama series, however in a conversation with Deadline, creator Steven Knight confirmed that a film adaptation is definitely on process, starring the original cast.
In Season 6, Tommy Shelby will face off his adversaries, but the most dreadful enmity is what he has with himself. Apart from this we see the comeback of Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, Finn Cole, Anya Taylor-Joy, Natasha O’Keeffe, Sophie Rundle, Stephen Graham and James Frecheville. However this season will go on air without the pivotal character “Aunt Polly”, played by Helen McRory. She passed away last April, after fighting against cancer. The first episode of Season 6 will be dedicated to her.
Peaky Blinders amassed a lot of love after it got aired on BBC Two in 2013, featuring Cillian Murphy and some amazingly talented UK actors, alongwith a fantastic plotline. It won BAFTA for Best Drama in its fourth season. Gradually it moved to BBC One in 2019 and has continued extending it’s fanbase. After the last episode of season 5 dating all the way back in 2019, fans have been eagerly waiting for the sixth and the final season that has already started it’s premiere in U.K. on Feb. 27th, creating a new record of 3.8 million overnight viewers at the season launch.
