Per Expectations ‘Monkey Man’ Debuts High On The Tomatometer

Through the waves of thick and thin, art often perseveres. Proving this statement true yet again, Dev Patel has delivered an enthralling directorial debut ‘Monkey Man’.

Past a not-so-pleasant filming experience – including a few broken bones and financial strains – the feature has officially bagged a Rotten Tomatoes score of 85%. Owing to his frustration with a lack of relatable representation in the action and thriller genres, Patel envisioned creating a fresh world by himself. And now that his vision has become a reality, it’s concept and execution are being lauded worldwide.

As for the plot, it follows an anonymous protagonist dubbed ‘Kid’, as he hunts down a corrupt group of leaders responsible for his mother’s death. And now, Kid’s high adrenaline, hard-edged story is about to hit more than 3,000 screens around the globe this weekend!

Having received widespread critical acclaim during the South by Southwest Film Festival last month, ‘Monkey Man’ is expected to climb up on its Tomatometer ratings soon!

Unfortunately for Indian fans, while the ensemble cast includes mostly Indian faces, it is still dubious whether the film will release theatrically in the country due to issues with the Central Board of Film Certification. Irrespective, hordes of fans are waiting eagerly to witness the magic of this beautiful, intricate journey. We know we are too!
