Rishab Shetty’s box-office blockbuster ‘Kantara’ has been on a roll ever since the Kannada film released in theatres on 30th September. It has become the second highest grossing Kannada film after ‘KGF 2’. Later, the film started streaming on the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform from 24 November, albeit only in Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu languages. The absence of Hindi language streaming on Prime Video had irked many viewers at that time.
And now, finally, in a fantastic piece of update for the Hindi speaking audiences, the Hindi version of ‘Kantara’ is all set to stream on the Netflix OTT platform from 9th December onwards.
Shortly after its theatrical release, The Kannada language action-drama Indian movie ‘Kantara’ has garnered widespread admiration from both critics and audiences. The film soon made its way on IMDb’s top rated Indian movies of all time in which it currently holds an impressive Rank 17 with a user rating of 8.8/10.
Later, the film also cracked the international Letterboxd top 50 films list. ‘Kantara’ also holds a 99% audience appreciation score on movie ticketing portal BookMyShow. And yet, ‘Kantara’ is still in no mood to stop.
The man vs nature centric film ‘Kantara’ has been written and directed by and features actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty. The film is set in the fictional village of Kantara and follows the story of a hot-headed henchman named Shiva (Rishab Shetty). When a forest officer Murali (Kishore) tries to stop the local superstitions in the village and save the forest from the residents, Shiva locks horns with Murali with support from his landlord (Achyuth Kumar). The highly rated film has been narrated in three different timelines – 1890s, 1970s, and the 1990s period. Now, get ready to enjoy ‘Kantara’ (Hindi) this Friday on Netflix.
