Lakshmi Manchu is doing her second OTT project with Netflix’s Pitta Kathalu. She is playing one of the heroines in the anthology which is the Telugu version of the fame Lust Stories. She plays a narcissistic politician, Swaroopakka in the movie. “It is really tough playing the character because it is nowhere connected to me. But I have drawn inspiration from a mix of people I have seen. This is a character which challenges me and I am glad I have taken it,” she said in an interview.
Lakshmi who is predominantly in Telugu films has did not do a Telugu film after W/O Ram which released in 2017. She appeared only in a Tamil film and a web series – Mrs. Subbalakshmi on Zee5 way back in 2018 and since there is no film or OTT appearance of her. So, this is sort of a comeback for Lakshmi and she is confident of making an impression on the audience.
The Telugu anthology will start streaming from 19th February. Pitta Kathalu features other actresses – Shruti Hassan, Eesha RebbaPitta Kathalu on Netflix: Can Eesha Rebba Establish Herself in OTT?, and Amala Paul in the remaining three bold stories. The OTT Major also brought on board four highly talented directors, Tharun Bhascker, Nandini Reddy, Nag Ashwin, and Sankalp Reddy to do the trick for it.
