Pitta Kathalu on Netflix: Nandini Reddy Inspired by A Shocking Real-Life Incident

OTT Major, Netflix’s maiden Telugu original – Pitta Kathalu is all set to hit the marquee in a few hours from now. Four promising directors of Tollywood – Nandini Reddy, Nag Ashwin, Tharun Bhascker, and Sankalp Reddy handle four different stories of the film.

Nandini Reddy handles the story ‘Meera’ in the film which stars Amala Paul and Jagapathi Babu in the lead roles. In an interaction with Binged.com, Nandini Reddy said there are so many Meeras and Vishwas around us. “There is a couple. Both of them are my close friends. They were in love and got married. One day, she came all of sudden and revealed the abuse she underwent. I was shocked because they looked so normal. I even paid for the medical bills,” Nandini Reddy reveals.

She says Meera urges women not to suffer silently and stand up against such abuse. Amala Paul who is also in the interaction also had some strong opinions about it. “It is not like we should break the relationships. But you should not silently bear in the name of children. You are doing no good to children by exposing them to such a toxic environment. Women should be brave to stand up,” the actress said.
