Pixar Doesn’t Want To Do Live-Action Adaptations Like Disney!

Pixar’s Chief creative Officer Peter Docter has said in a recent interview that the company is not interested in making live action adaptations of popular animated movies. Pixar’s parent company ‘Disney’ has made almost twenty live action adaptations of animated movies. Some of them worked out pretty well, while some were criticized badly.

Peter was asked in an interview whether he will consider casting Josh O’Connor in a live action ‘Ratatouille’ movie following a campaign by fans. He replied that “No, and this might bite me in the butt for saying it, but it sort of bothers me. I like making movies that are original and unique to themselves. To remake it, it’s not very interesting to me personally.” He also said that this will also be difficult because Pixar movies work so well as they only follow the rules of the animated world.

The executive has said that the focus of Pixar is on originals and if the recent one, ‘Inside Out 2’ does not work out well, they will have to reconsider the way they are dealing with the stories. But live action movies being with them concerns for realism and various other things that do not bother the animated world. So they will like to stick with what they are doing. Fans would be happy with this news as there has been much uproar about some live-action movies that were not up to the mark. But some people would be disappointed as well, as realistic adaptations are having huge fan bases too.
