PK (2014) starred Aamir Khan in the lead role and Anushka Sharma, late Sushant Singh Rajput, Saurabh Shukla, Sanjay Dutt, and Boman Irani in the supporting roles. Apart from these stars, do you remember seeing Ranbir Kapoor for a cameo? What if we tell you that you will be seeing more of Ranbir Kapoor in PK? No, it’s not impossible because the movie is in talks for a sequel!
Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, in a recent interview with Mid Day, opened up about the sequel. He said the decision of coming up with the next part is final but they don’t have a story and a script yet. Because towards the end Ranbir Kapoor lands on Earth, the makers want him to take the story forward. If Ranbir accepts the offer, this sequel will mark his second project with Rajkumar Hirani after ‘Sanju.’
As mentioned above, the story is not ready. The production will begin after writer Abhijat Joshi starts working on it and when the cast is finalised. In 2014, PK reached the peak of success. It became the highest grossing Indian film of all time in 2014 and at present is the fifth highest grossing Indian film. We hope its sequel is as successful as the first part if not more!
On the work front, Ranbir has a number of upcoming releases – an untitled project alongside Shraddha Kapoor, directed by Luv Ranjan; Ayan Mukherji’s Bhramastra alongside Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan; and lastly Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera alongside Vani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.
