Poacher is getting released tomorrow. The series is perhaps the most ambitious series of Prime Video in 2024 so far. Since it is getting released in the month of February, we can say that the series is the Farzi of 2024.
Well, there are some super high expectations and there are naturally some challenges. The series stars Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Ankith Madhav, Kani Kusruti, Suraj Pops, Ranjita Menon, Vinod Sherawat and Snoop Dinesh.
Alia Bhatt is one of the producers and naturally, she is very much involved in the overall campaign of the series. The makers even went on to say that there are some plans for international reception for the series. Are those aspirations seeing enough effort?
Doesn’t look like it. In the case of Farzi, there were multiple promotion drives that also included many big stars.
What’s going on with the promotion of Poacher? Well, Poacher is not a very clickbait kinda series per se. It lacks the fun element in the trailer which is always a tempting factor. The trailer is dark, serious and unpleasant. So, it is definitely more challenging for a show of this kind to reach the audience.
Prime Video should have promoted it more aggressively but looks like the destiny would depend on Word of Mouth. Stay tuned to Binged for the review of the show.
