Throughout the history of art, politics and arts have never been separated. One is used to rule the administration while the other is used to rule the thought and perception of people. The tussle has been in existence since time immemorial and happens quite often even around ourselves on a daily basis.
Regardless, the new controversy is around the Tamil movie Annapoorani: The Goddess Of Food. The movie starring Nayanthara in the lead role received negative to mixed reviews from critics as the story of the film fails to move the audience. It also stars Jai and Sathyaraj.
The story is about a Brahmin girl whose family is a cook in a temple. She aspires to be a chef who is supposed to cook non-vegetarian food. So, she runs away from her family and pursues her career. But, there are several scenes in the film which is problematic. Demonification of the Hindu faith, making good food becomes possible only after offering Namaz and several more. Due to such scenes, people are campaigning to remove the film altogether from Netflix India.
There are several complaints but the removal of the film looks highly unlikely. Even an FIR has been registered against the film but at max, there can be a few cuts in the film. Stay tuned as we will tell you what happens.
