The writers are protesting on the streets in this summer heat. And the golden collar CEOs, top officials and more are comfortably increasing their wealth. And what is the reason for not paying writers well?
Well, they whine about lack of money. But did you know that Netflix spent $30 Million on a film called Masters Of The Universe and then finally canceled it?
Masters of the Universe, a live-action movie based on He-Man, and other popular Mattel toys, is officially dead at Netflix. Mind you that the sensational Barbie is also a Mattel toy.
Set on the planet Eternia, “Masters of the Universe” largely focuses on the conflict between He-Man, a blonde muscle god, and his opponent called Skeletor.
Now, Netflix is infamous for canceling shows and films but at what cost?
$30 Million is a big deal especially when there are hundreds if not thousands of writers who are finding it difficult to meet their ends.
“It’s as big as Marvel and DC,” Mattel CEO said. “It’s hundreds of pages of characters and sorcerers and vehicles and weaponry — you name it. And then you flip through the pages, and here’s a movie, and here’s a movie, and here’s a TV show. . . . it’s endless!
But now it’s all over.
