This happens because Prime Video doesn’t own the entire contents of its library. Several popular titles – both films and series – are licenced from their parent companies for a specific period of time.
Sometimes Prime Video India renews the licence for a title; and sometimes, it doesn’t. Which means that the title leaves Prime Video India to return to its owner. This happens not just in India, but across the world.
A number of popular movies are leaving Prime video India tomorrow. The titles include movies such as all the Bourne series of spy films, the beloved ‘Back To The Future’ franchise, Martin Scorsese’s and Leonardo Dicaprio’s ‘The Aviator’, Scarlett Johansson’s ‘The Nanny Diaries’, Ryan Gosling’s ‘Blue Valentine’, and more.
