Pradeep Ranganathan began his feature film career with directing the 2019 film ‘Comali’ which became successful both commercially and critically. In his next venture ‘Love Today’ he decided to play the lead role alongside directing and once agin met with massive success and acclaim.
Pradeep’s latest outing is ‘Dragon’ directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and looks like this one’s also on its way to become a hit. The film released in theatres recently and looking at the huge number of tickets sold (over 200,000) in a single day, expectations are that the film will cross ₹100 crore worldwide soon.
‘Dragon’ is reportedly getting great response in various regions including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and even the USA, indicating its wide range of appeal.
Critics and public are pouring praises for the director’s brilliant writing which though feels convenient and lengthy at times but does its job well to keep the audience entertained. The film is said to have a simple and predictable story but the execution is done wonderfully, in turn making it an enjoyable experience overall. Ranganathan’s performance has also received much acclaim.
Despite an underlying social message, the audience did not find ‘Dragon’ heavily preachy. In fact it has been described as a fun, emotional and energetic film that ends up to be a satisfying watch.
