Prakash Kovelamudi to Direct a Web Series for Hotstar

Actor, director Prakash Kovelamudi, who’s made films like Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu, Size Zero, Judgemental Hai Kya, is gearing up to make his debut in the digital space. After a series of discussions with several portals, the filmmaker has earned a nod from Hotstar to direct a Telugu show.

“Prakash has been trying hard to get going with this web series for long now. He was in discussion with Hotstar for at least six months to get a green signal. Streaming portals are taking a lot of time to approve scripts these days and he was relieved to have got a confirmation recently,” shares a source.

Though there is no confirmation about the genre he would be taking up for the Hotstar series, the source confirms that the show will be shot on an impressive budget. The streaming platform has confirmed another short filmmaker-turned-director for a Telugu series that will take off next year as well.
