Prosenjit To Make Directorial Debut In Bollywood, Kangana To Star?

Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee will soon return to directing, this time with a Bollywood movie. He has made quite a name in the Hindi-speaking belt with his recent performance in the shows like ‘Jubilee’ or ‘Scoop’. He has previously been seen in many Hindi movies like ‘Traffick’, ‘Veerta’ and more. This year, he has given a huge hit to the Bengali industry as well. ‘Dawshom Awbotaar’ was the crossover between two popular thrillers, ‘Baishe Srabon’ and ‘Vinci Da’.

Now, Prosenjit will make a film on Nati Binodini. Nati Binodini was the first female theater actor of colonial India. She is already having a big budget biopic in Bengali with Rukmini Maitra in the lead. Actress Priyanka Sarkar is also playing Binodini in a movie named ‘Lawho Gouranger Naam Re’.

Filmmaker Pradip Sarkar was planning for a movie on the iconic historical character. But after his recent demise, Prosenjit has taken up the project into his own hands. The movie will be produced by Anjan Chattopadhyay. Kangana Ranaut is rumoured to be approached for the role.

After so many disaster films, Kangana Ranaut can make a good comeback with such a story. Or there is another possibility. The distrust in Kangana’s content can also endanger the success of Prosenjit’s Bollywood directorial.

The movie will be shot mostly in Mumbai and the shooting will probably start after the Loksabha Votes in Bengal.
