It was reported a few days back that the ‘Scam 1992’ actor Pratik Gandhi will next be seen in the Gujarati Web series titled ‘Vitthal Teedi’. The web series has been helmed by talented Gujarati filmmaker Abhishek Jain (Director – ‘Bey Yaar’ also starring Pratik Gandhi). The show was reportedly filmed in January this year.
Thereafter, the Gujarati content streaming platform ‘Oho Gujarati’ unveiled the first look of the much-anticipated web series ‘Vitthal Teedi’. The first look picture revealed Gandhi in his gambler avatar and the picture had a retro-stylish 1980s vibe to it.
The motion poster started off with the words “What’s the difference between a gambler and a player?” and immediately answered the question for us “A gambler relies on his luck, while a player uses his skills.”
And now, coinciding with Gujarat Day, the web series’ trailer has also been unveiled by Oho Gujarati.
The trailer starts off with an ongoing classroom session when the class teacher writes the number ‘3’ on the blackboard and asks a student called ‘Vitthal’ about it. The student promptly replies ‘Teedi’ (which means ‘Three of Hearts’ in a card game terminology) and the class erupts into a burst of laughter.
In the subsequent snippets, we are shown a grown-up Vitthal (played by Pratik Gandhi) saying the words “Playing cards is an art. But if you fall in love with cards it’s nothing short of magic.” Vitthal is projected as a star gambler of a local gambling den. But his life apparently takes a U-turn after he moves to a city.
However, eventually, the skilled gambler, in an ironic reversal of fortune, ostensibly resorts to gambling again. So, raise the stakes, and push your luck in the game of a lifetime, to watch the charismatic Pratik Gandhi as and in the highly anticipated web series ‘Vitthal Teedi’.
Based on a short story of the same name by Mukesh Sojitra, ‘Vitthal Teedi’ (Chapter 1) will start streaming all its episodes worldwide, exclusively on the premium Gujarati content streaming platform OHO Gujarati from May 7, 2021, onwards. The trailer further informs that Oho Gujarati will be open to subscriptions from 7th May 2021 onwards.
