A new project from Brendan Fraser has now been announced. He will be starring in a new war drama that has been titled ‘Pressure’. ‘Pressure’ will be telling the true story of the Normandy Landing on 1944 and Brendan Fraser will be playing the role of the 34th US president Dwight David Eisenhower.
Andrew Scott will play the role of Chief Meteorological Officer James Stagg who was assigned with the job of reporting the weather conditions on the historic ‘D Day’. On the 6th of June in 1944, the largest sea borne invasion in history was carried out. The allied forces took on the Nazi province of Normandy and laid the foundations of victory in Europe. The official description of the movie goes like this, “In the 72 hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element — the British weather. Britain’s Chief Meteorological Officer James Stagg is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership.”
The movie will be directed by filmmaker Anthony Maras. Maras is known for previously directing the much popular movie ‘Hotel Mumbai’ that starred Dev Patel.
After his Academy Award winning performance in Darren Aronofsky’s ‘The Whale’, Brendan Fraser was last seen in Martin Scorsese’s last movie ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’. It will be a great treat for fans to watch two actors like Andrew Scott and Brendan Fraser together in a historical drama. The rest of the cast list has not been decided yet. There will hopefully be more information on the project soon.
