Prime Video Brings AMC+, Acorn TV To India on Prime Video Channels!

By Binged Bureau - Jun 24, 2022 @ 03:06 pm

The Indian streaming space is all set to get even more exciting than it already is. Prime Video is now bringing U.S. streamer AMC+, the streaming arm of the AMC broadcast network, to India. Prime Video will launch AMC+ as part of its Prime Video Channels offering. Along with AMC+, Prime Video will also launch Acorn TV in India on Prime Video Channels. Acorn TV is an American streaming platform, which streams top content from Commonwealth countries such as the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, among others, along with Mexico, Spain, etc. Acorn TV is a subsidiary of the AMC network.

Viewers who subscribe to AMC+ through Prime Video Channels will get full access to Acorn TV at the cost of the AMC+ subscription. Prime Video is offering the AMC+ subscription to its members at a special introductory price of INR 349 for the annual subscription. As mentioned above, viewers will get full access to Acorn TV also, with the AMC+ subscription.

Those who wish to buy subscription only for Acorn TV can do so at an introductory annual pricing of INR 249. Post the introductory offer, the AMC+ subscription will be available for INR 699 annually, and INR 499 annually for Acorn TV.

Both OTT services will offer their premier original programming with Hindi, Tamil and Telugu subtitles, for the convenience of Prime members. Popular AMC+ shows include exclusive series such as The Walking Dead: Origins, That Dirty Black Bag, Gangs Of London, Better Call Saul, among others. Upcoming new AMC+ originals include shows such as The Walking Dead: Origins (premiering today); western noir Dark Winds (premiering 7 July) executive produced by Emmy®-winner George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones) and Oscar®-winner Robert Redford; sci-fi thriller Moonhaven (premiering 4 August) starring Dominic Monaghan (Lost) and Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Tales of the Walking Dead, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, and Mayfair Witches among others. AMC+ also boasts a curated library of series and films.

For those who don’t know, Prime Video Channels is Amazon’s video entertainment marketplace, where it offers add-on subscriptions to OTT platforms it has tied up with. Prime members get access to a wide range of premium content from multiple video streaming services all available at one place on Prime Video.

Until now, Prime Video Channels offered Prime members the chance to subscribe to OTT players already streaming in India. MUBI, Hoichoi TV, Lionsgate Play, Discovery Plus, Docubay, Eros Now, NammaFlix, Manorama Max, etc. This is the first time that Prime Video has launched OTT platforms not available in India.

AMC+ and Acorn TV are available for subscription on Prime Video Channels, starting from today.
