All those who have been waiting for some news on the new season of Prime Video’s Outer Range, here’s an exciting update – Prime Video is finally gearing up to release Outer Range Season 2 on its platform, two years after the first season of Outer Range began streaming on Prime Video worldwide. Outer Range Season 2 will premiere on Prime Video on 16th May, 2024.
Prime Video’s ‘Outer Range’ was one of the best shows of 2022. The sci-fi drama had elements of mystery and suspense that elevated the story into a gripping watch. The series stars Josh Brolin as Wyoming rancher Royal Abbott, who, in the midst of a family calamity, discovers an ‘unfathomable mystery’ on his land – a huge black void that forms on his pasture.
As he struggles to unravel the mystery and decode the great ‘unknown’, a strange young woman named Autumn arrives at the Abbott ranch and camps out on the land. Simultaneously, Royal must grapple with a rival family, the Tillersons, who are trying to take over the Abbotts’ land.
The mystery surrounding the void deepens in Outer Range Season 2, as Royal and his wife Cecelia (Lili Taylor) grapple with the disappearance of their granddaughter, amongst other mounting troubles. Imogen Poots, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, Olive Abercrombie and Will Patton form the rest of the cast. Christian James, Megan West, Daniel Abeles, Kimberly Guerrero and Monette Moio are new entrants in Outer Range Season 2.
The sci-fi drama series is produced by playwright Brian Watkins, Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Amazon Studios. Watkins has also written the series. Josh Brolin will make his directorial debut in Outer Range Season 2 – he has helmed the penultimate episode of the season.
