Prime Video India Pulls The Plug On ‘Seinfeld’, Leaves Fans Stranded

Amazon Prime Video holds content from all over the globe in abundance and due to this it has become one of the most recognisable platforms all over the world. Especially in this lockdown, where people started watching shows in the OTT platforms just to kill time and be entertained. Comedy was one of the most watched genres and when we talk about comedy and sitcoms, ‘Seinfeld’ is one of the top most shows out there.

Seinfeld as we all know is hailed as a cult classic sitcom and probably the greatest comedy show to have come out by many polls and websites. In India, Seinfeld used to stream on Amazon Prime Video from a long time. But recently, a user pointed out the fact that Seinfeld was no longer showing in Prime Video India’s library. The user also stated the fact that he was in the middle of watching the show when, Amazon pulled the show off from their library. This has left the fans stranded as many of them were enjoying the show and were in different seasons.

The user tweeted about the case and got a reply from the help handle of Amazon, also known as Amazon Help. Amazon Help entertained the user by giving a statement that all the streaming platforms acquires the license for these shows for a specific amount of time. And now, when the license has expired they were bound to remove the show from their content library.

This means that until further negotiations with the officials of Seinfeld, Amazon Prime Video will not be having the cult classic “The Show About Nothing” – Seinfeld. But Amazon Help also stated to stay tuned for further announcements so as to give an information if and when the show will be back.

Until then Seinfeld is and has always been available on SonyLIV. So if you’re are a fan or are looking forward to watch the show, SonyLIV is your stop!
