Prime Video India has some of the most magnetic shows in India. They recently gave a monstrous hit in Shahid Kapoor led Farzi. Also, their next series Jubilee is extremely promising due to its huge cast and the master director behind it. But, some shows are simply incapable of attracting an audience.
This is exactly the case with their latest show called “Happy Family Conditions Apply”. It stars Ratna Pathak Shah along with Raj Babbar, Atul Kulkarni, Ayesha Jhulka, Raunaq Kamdar, and Meenal Sahu.
It is made in the sitcom format that was popular back in the late 90s and early 2000s. But let’s be honest, Happy Family Conditions Apply is not the kind of show that would work in today’s India.
The limitation is not because of the concept but the way it was executed. While some people blatantly labeled stereotyping the Gujarati people, some people couldn’t bear with the show. But most people, didn’t even bother checking it out.
But now Prime Video is milking the show. They have done the same deed that Zee5 did for Taj: Divided By Blood. They have released the pilot episode on YouTube.
It is strictly not the typical Prime Video behavior as they hardly post clips and never the episodes as a whole.
We realize that not every show can be a hit like Farzi, but in the case of Happy Family Conditions Apply, it is embarrassing.
