Prime Video India’s Major Chance at IFFI Goa!

IFFI is set to be done today and the inclusion of OTT in the power dynamics is something new. This year Netflix India is leading the nomination with two entries but the overall campaign depends heavily on Prime Video too.

Boman Irani’s emotional drama The Mehta Boys is set for its Asian premiere at the IFFI Goa this weekend. This will be one of the few theatrical screenings for the film before it moves to Prime Video. The film, which won Best Feature Film at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, explores a father-son relationship tested over 48 hours of challenging circumstances.

Prime Video has plenty more in store at IFFI. The Rana Daggubati Show, a Tollywood version of Koffee With Karan without the usual Karan Johar drama will have its world premiere at the festival.

The eight-episode series will hit Prime Video on November 23, with new episodes releasing every Saturday. It will have guests like Dulquer Salmaan, Nani, S.S. Rajamouli, and more.

Music lovers are also kept in mind. The closing ceremony will feature a jugalbandi performance by musicians from Bandish Bandits Season 2, followed by a sneak peek of the upcoming season. Cast members Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhary, along with the creative team, will join the event.

To sum this up, this whole IFFP is going to be a great thing for Prime Video. The platform has a lot on its plate, let’s see how they utilise it.
