Prime Video India created a huge buzz today when it announced its huge Indian slate for 2024. But guess what? The massive slate turned out to be a massive disappointment! It was almost like that line from Prime Video’s own Mirzapur Season 1 when Beena (Rasika Dugal) says to Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) – “Har baar garam karke thanda hi chhod dete ho”.
But why do we say this?
Here are the reasons –
1. Prime Video India did not reveal even a single release date for the new seasons of any of its much-awaited shows. No release date for Mirzapur Season 3, Panchayat Season 3, Pataal Lok Season 2, Bandish Bandits Season 2 and more.
This, after fans have been waiting for Panchayat Season 3 release date ever since the January fiasco when Prime Video Indonesia tweeted about Panchayat Season 3 release date on 15th January created massive buzz on social media. That post was quietly taken down by Prime Video Indonesia then, but no new update ever since.

2. Let alone release dates for the new seasons, Prime Video India did not even give any update on new cast members etc on the shows. Fans would have been delighted with even a tiny bit of new information on their favourite shows. But Prime Video’s not giving!
3. No mention of audience favourite The Family Man 3 at all – not even a teeny weeny update. What ya, Prime Video India!!
4. Similarly, not a single mention of Farzi Season 2, Jubilee Season 2 or Dhootha Season 2. So disappointing!
5. No renewal of Vadhandhi – Pushkar – Gayatri’s other Prime Video show apart from Suzhal.
6. Finally, the worst treatment was reserved for Gulkanda Tales from Raj & DK. The series is one of the most awaited ones, coz it is the next project from Rahi Anil Barve after his seminal horror film, Tumbbad. And what do we get? Not a single glimpse from the series – no first looks at its cast, Kunal Kemmu, Pankaj Tripathi and Patralekha. And not even a new poster – Prime Video shared the same poster for the show that it had released at last year’s event – how stingy, really!
