Prime Video Inks Multi-Year OTT Deal With Sajid Nadiadwala’s NGE Films

Prime Video India is getting more and more aggressive in the acquisition of post-theatrical streaming rights of popular films. The streaming behemoth has just inked a multi-year streaming deal with top Bollywood producer Sajid Nadiadwala‘s NGE Films (aka Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment). The deal with give Prime Video the rights to stream all Nadiadwala Films’ movies on its platform, after their theatrical run.

Major upcoming films from NGE Films are Varun Dhawan’s ‘Bawaal’, Tiger Shroff’s ‘Baaghi 4’, Sanki, Kartik Aaryan’s untitled project, and more. Looking at the lineup of films to land on Prime Video, courtesy its brand new deal with Nadiadwala Films, the streamer has got itself a plum deal!

Prime Video’s deal with NGE Films is just another prominent one it has signed in recent days. In April, when Prime Video had announced its big fat slate of Indian originals for 2022 – 2023, the platform had also revealed that it has inked lucrative deals with some of the most prestigious film production banners in India. They are Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Ajay Devgn Films, Aditya Chopra’s Yashraj Films (YRF) and Farhan Akhtar – Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.

By signing this deal with Sajid Nadiadwala’s NGE Films, Prime Video has more or less cornered the entire Hindi film industry and its post-theatrical streaming rights. It has also sounded the bugle of high-stakes competition with Netflix, its main rival in India.

Now over to you, Netflix!
