Amazon Prime Video has announced the launch of a new documentary series based on the life of the Indian-Canadian singer AP Dhillon. Titled as ‘AP Dhillon: First of a Kind’, the docuseries will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on 18th August, 2023.
The announcement was made today with an unseen clip of AP Dhillon randomly jamming on his guitar sitting on a staircase. The video is said to be from Dhillon’s last night in India before he made the career defining move to Canada.
In Amazon Prime Video’s ‘AP Dhillon: First of a Kind’, the docu series will feature the singer’s journey to fame, his life and his struggles. It will cover how though he had big dreams to achieve, little did he know about the challenges ahead, from cultural differences to language barriers. But he moved past every obstacle to become the raging success he is today.
Earlier titled as ‘This Is AP Dhillon’, ‘AP Dhillon: First of a Kind’ is an all access reality documentary based on AP Dhillon – the breakout star of the global Punjabi hip hop scene. Through this series we go behind the sensation of AP Dhillon, to tell a story which celebrates brown identity like no other.
‘AP Dhillon: First of a Kind’ is produced by Wild Sheep Content and Brown Munde Inc. The executive producers for the show include
Erik Barmack and Kevin Buttar; and AP Dhillon. ‘AP Dhillon: First of a Kind’ will launch only on Amazon Prime Video on 18th August, 2023.
