Amazon Prime Video has launched a new Korean crime thriller named ‘The Killing Vote’. The first episode of the SBS original was released this Thursday. Every Thursday, subsequent episodes will be released simultaneously on SBS and Prime Video.
The Killing Vote is written by Jo Yoon-young and directed by Park Shin-woo. The show is adapted from a cartoon regularly released on a web portal: National Death Penalty Vote. It Was created by Uhm Se-yoon and Jung Yi-pum.
The show tells the story of an anonymous killer. He sends regular citizens text messages to ask whether capital punishment should be given to a particular criminal or not. If more than half of the citizens reply with a yes, he kills the criminal off. No security stops him and nobody can identify him. He has a mask on his face, for that he gets to know as Dog Mask. The police have to kill but some of them also think that he is doing good. There is a very evident conflict in the minds of the people.
Popular actor Park Hae-jin plays a detective who is given the charge of catching Dog Mask. He faces a moral dilemma as to whether the man is doing right by Killing off the criminals. Park Sung-woong plays a lawyer with very ambiguous views on the matter, but he soon turns himself to prison after killing the rapist of his daughter.
People who are fond of K-dramas and crime thrillers are surely going to love this show. Watch a new episode every Thursday and enjoy.
