Prime Video India has finally announced an update on one of its most acclaimed shows – Mumbai Diaries. The streaming giant took to its social media handles to announce that Mumbai Diaries Season 2 is on its way to coming soon on the platform. The news will definitely gladden the hearts of fans of the show, who’ve been eagerly waiting for an update on the new season of Mumbai Diaries. The series premiered on Prime Video India back in 2021.
We don’t have any confirmed information on when Mumbai Diaries Season 2 will premiere on Prime Video. What we do know, however, is that all the members of the primary cast will return to reprise their roles in Mumbai Diaries Season 2. Mohit Raina, Konkona Sen Sharma, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Satyajeet Dubey, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Natasha Bharadwaj, Tina Desai, Prakash Belawadi among others, will return with Mumbai Diaries Season 2.
Mumbai Diaries Season 1, titled Mumbai Diaries 26/11, had centred on the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, told from the point of view of the staff of the fictional Bombay General Hospital, and how they coped with the influx of the injured and dead during the fateful time.
The official short synopsis for Mumbai Diaries reads “Doctors, nurses, first responders, and other hospital personnel deal with a crisis of immense magnitude in Mumbai.”
Going by the synopsis, Mumbai Diaries Season 2 will focus on the team of doctors as they cope in the wake of another disaster in Mumbai. Let’s see what it will be this time around – the 26/7 cloudburst and floods in Mumbai in 2005, or the train blasts in 2006 are our guesses.
