Here’s some great news for fans of stand up comedy, more specifically, fans of Prime Video’s flagship comedy show, ‘Comicstaan‘. The streamer has revealed that a new season of Comicstaan is on the way, along with announcing its release date. Comicstaan Season 3 will premiere on Prime Video on July 15, with a slightly new format and new contestants fighting for the coveted comedy crown.
The Comicstaan new season will be hosted by Abish Mathew and Kusha Kapila. The judges’ panel on Comicstaan Season 3 will be graced by celebrated comedians Zakir Khan, Sumukhi Suresh, Neeti Palta and Kenny Sebastian. Eight contestants will fight it out in eight episodes that will feature them performing to different genres of stand-up comedy – improv, observational, sketch, anecdotal and so on.
The eight participants will be mentored by seven of the biggest names in the Indian stand up comedy scene – Rahul Subramanian, Sapan Verma, Rohan Joshi, Prashasti Singh, Kannan Gill, Aadar Malik and Anu Menon. The comedy talent hunt show is the brainchild of content creator, Only Much Louder.
Comicstaan Season 1 & 2 were extremely well-received by viewers. The show has been a success with fans of stand up comedy. It has also brought forth new comic talent in the country. Supriya Joshi, Anubhav Singh Bassi, Prashasti Singh, Rahul Dua, Nishant Suri, Aakash Gupta, Raunaq Rajani, among others, are some of the names that made it big in the world of comedy after appearing on Comicstaan.
Now Comicstaan is back with eight new contestants, seven mentors, four judges and two hosts. The eight-episode Comicstaan Season 3 will stream on Prime Video in India and across 240 countries and territories from July 15.
