Prime Video U.S. Disappoints Users By Not Streaming These Two Films

The Malayalam crime thriller ‘Ela Veezha Poonchira‘ is streaming on Amazon Prime Video India from today and the Tamil romantic drama ‘Dada‘ too is also streaming on the platform from the 10th of March.

These two movies are rated very good and had gained positive responses at the time of their theatrical releases. But they were not released on Prime Video U.S. Probably the platform only has the rights for the streaming of these two movies in India. It is sad for many Indians that are living in the U.S.A. that they cannot watch Ela Veezha Poonchira and Dada on Prime Video. Despite having a huge viewer base in the country, with a large portion of it dedicated to the films from South India, the platform really made a mistake not releasing these two films with such positive responses.

Ela Veezha Poonchira is written by Nidhish G and Shaji Maarad and directed by well-known filmmaker Shahi Kabir. The film stars actors like Soubin Shahir, Sudhi Koppa and Jude Anthany Joseph in the lead roles and tells the story of two police officers investigating the murder of a woman in a hilly city.

Dada, on the other hand is directed by Ganesh K. Babu and stars actors like Kavin, Aparna Das, K. Bhagyaraj and many others. It is the story of two teenagers who fall in love and unintentionally become parents to a kid. Their relationship breaks soon enough and the kid is left with his single father Manikandan, but situations bring the mother Sindhu close again after some time.

Indian audiences are loving the films on OTT and it is a shame that audiences abroad cannot experience them. Amazon Prime Video should have thought more of NRIs and fans of Indian cinema in the USA. Streaming more good films from India will ultimately help in growing their viewer base as the population of the USA consists of a huge number of Indians and yes, they can’t go without their Indian films. Ignoring the audience can lead to losing their users and there is absolutely no point if a film is streaming on Prime Video India and is not streaming on Prime Video U.S. It is necessary to understand what the users want and to keep them satisfied. If they do not get the films that they want they will soon grow tired of the platform.
