Prime Video has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming original series ‘Dupahiya’ and this rural comedy drama looks fun and entertaining. Created and written by Chirag Garg and Avinash Dwivedi, ‘Dupahiya’ will start streaming on Prime Video from 7th March, 2025.
‘Dupahiya’ trailer begins with Roshni’s marriage being set up with a boy. Her excitement is through the roof since the boy is from Mumbai and after marriage she will be able to fulfill her aspirations of a modern city life. When the to-be-groom demands for an expensive bike with a year’s supply of petrol, despite being hesitant initially Roshni’s father Banwari agrees to giving the “wedding gift”.
But the real trouble starts after the bike has been bought and gets stolen upon arriving in the village. But this theft is troublesome because it comes as a blot to the 25 year crime free history of Dhadakpur which is claimed to be the Belgium of Bihar. Moreover, if reported it would mean loss of trophy, clean water and above all pride for the village.
The suspect includes Roshni’s ex-boyfriend Amavas, who was Naimesh from Dhadakpur years ago for his incessant stealing.but now he seems to the only hope who could procure a second hand bike.
The trailer for ‘Dupahiya’ looks good with a funny tale to tell. The ensemble cast looks great in their roles and overall the show has a novelty that one got to see in Prime Video’s other show ‘Panchayat’, thus raising the excitement even more.
Written by Chirag Garg and Avinash Dwivedi who have co-created the show with Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani, ‘Dupahiya’ is directed by Sonam Nair (‘Masaba Masaba’, ‘Kaafir’, ‘Gippi’). The series stars Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Bhuvan Arora, Sparsh Srivastava, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashpal Sharma.
Produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under their Bombay Film Cartel banner, ‘Dupahiya’ will start streaming only in Prime Video from 7th March, 2025.
