This morning, Prime Video debuted a new crime drama series on its platform, titled ‘Ourika’, aka ‘The Source’. The drugs-centred series promises an immersive watching experience, with an intense and profound narrative at the center of the plot. All episodes of French series ‘Ourika’ are now streaming on Prime Video in India, in French, English and Hindi.
The most exciting thing about Ourika for music fans is that the series marks the acting debut of popular French rapper Booba (Elie Yaffa is his real name). The rapper has also written the series, along with Clement Godard, Clément Gournay and Vincent L’Anthoën.
The plot of Ourika follows the powerful Jebli family, head of a cannabis trafficking network, sees its empire crumble following a major police operation. Driss, the brilliant youngest son of the family, is forced to abandon his ambitious finance career and take over the reins of the criminal enterprise. William, an ambitious young policeman, is determined to bring down Driss and his network. This confrontation will turn their lives, and those around them, upside down.
Adam Bessa plays the lead character of Driss in Ourika. Noham Edje plays hard-nosed cop William, while Salim Kechiouche plays Moussa. Rapper Booba (Elie Yaffa) plays a drug trafficker, determined to take his revenge and line his pockets.
Ourika is directed by Marcela Saïd and Julien Despaux. Besides Adam Bessa, Noham Edje, Salim Kechiouche and Booba in his first acting role, the series stars Max Gomis, Slimane Dazi, and Sawsan Abès in pivotal roles.
