After Netflix’s slew of series adapted from author Harlan Coben’s bestselling suspense novels, it’s now the turn of rival platform Prime Video to release its own Harlan Coben series. Prime Video has just released the first full-fledged trailer for its upcoming series ‘Shelter‘, based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name. Shelter is the first novel in Coben’s young adult books series, featuring the character of Mickey Bolitar. In the novels, Mickey Bolitar is the nephew of Myron Bolitar, another popular Harlan Coben protagonist.
Prime Video has announced the release date for the suspense and mystery series back in June. ‘Shelter’ premieres on Prime Video worldwide on 18th August, 2023. The first three episodes of the series will debut at the premiere initially, followed by one new episode every week, until the finale on 22nd September.
Prime Video’s ‘Shelter’ revolves around Mickey Bolitar, 15, who wonders why his new girlfriend at school, Ashley Kent, stopped coming to school and has seemingly vanished. Meanwhile, Mickey deals with issues at home – he’s forced to live with estranged uncle, Myron, while his drug-addict mother is in into rehab.
Things become even more complicated when a strange woman who lives in an eerie mansion tells Mickey that his father is alive, even though Mickey saw him die in a car accident more than a year ago. Soon Mickey and his friends discover that Ashley’s disappearance is connected to his father’s accident.
Shelter stars Jaden Michael in the lead role of Mickey Bolitar, along with Constance Zimmer, Adrian Greensmith, Samantha Bugliaro, Tovah Feldshuh, Abby Corrigan, Sage Linder, Brian Altemus, among others, in pivotal roles.
