Prime Video’s Indian Police Force Trailer: Poor VFX, Humdrum Plot

Prime Video India has just dropped the first full-fledged trailer for its much-anticipated series, ‘Indian Police Force’. The Sidharth Malhotra starrer series premieres on Prime Video worldwide on 19th January, 2024.

The ‘Indian Police Force’ trailer gives us glimpses of most of the primary cast of the series. We see Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Sharad Kelkar, Mukesh Rishi, Nikitan Dheer, among others, playing hard-nosed cops. A radicalised youth Zarar is on the run after carrying out a devastating bomb blast. An edge-of-the-seat cat and mouse chase ensues, as the Delhi police force tries to get hold of Zarar before he does more damage.

Throughout the Indian Police Force trailer, we never get a glimpse of the actor playing the villain, Zarar. We only get a fleeting look at the character, that too a masked side view. We also don’t get to see anything of prominent cast members Isha Talwar and Shweta Tiwari in the trailer. Could one of them be Zarar?

The experience of watching the Indian Police Force trailer is marred by the poor graphics in the narrative. They look distinctly artifical, contrived, and very amateurish. The bomb blast sequences look very unnatural. Everyone’s acting is loud, over-the-top and studied. Cringey dialogues and a done-to-death plot add to the feeling of dissatisfaction with the trailer. Let’s hope the series turns out better than the trailer.

Indian Police Force is directed by Rohit Shetty and Sushwanth Prakash, and jointly produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez and Reliance Entertainment. The huge ensemble cast comprises Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Vibhuti Thakur, Karanvir Malhotra, Nikitin Dheer, Shweta Tiwari, Sharad Kelkar, Mukesh Rishi, Mrinal Kulkarni, Mayyank Taandon, Vaidehi Parashurami and Ritu Raj Singh, among others.
