There is one thing the Hindi film industry has been really bad at. It is making trailers. They make the trailer and the entire movie is in front of you. Take the case of Singham Again.
Did you find anything new in the movie? Everything was in the trailer. Who would even wanna watch a movie after that?
Also, trailers are meant to create a sort of curiosity among the fans. What these trailers do is exactly the opposite, they kill curiosity.
But Prime Video is doing something much better.
They are making interactive trailers.
What does it mean?
The trailer interacts with you. The characters directly address the viewers. This leaves a lot of room for experiments and we are left guessing about what is to follow in the entire film or series.
It happened during Farzi, during Mirzapur Season 3 and now even Paatal Lok Season 2.
The characters are making direct eye contact with the audience and taking to them. It is indeed a nice innovation they are bringing and due to the same reason we see a trailer as an active audience.
If and only if more Bollywood production houses take note of this, it would be a really great shift in the way trailers are made in the industry.
