Prime Video’s Invincible Season 2: Predictions, Release Date, and More

Mark Grayson, aka Invincible, is back! So is the ruthless and powerful Omni-Man! Prime Video has dropped the official teaser trailer of Invincible Season 2. The latest one-minute and 45 seconds long clip teases what to expect from the upcoming season without spoiling too much. A smart decision indeed!

The teaser trailer shows the familiar faces of Mark (Steven Yeun), Debbie (Sandra Oh), Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs), members of the Guardians of the Globe, William (Andrew Rannells), Amber (Zazie Beetz), Cecil Stedman (Water Goggins), and many more faces. In addition, the clip reveals the talents who have lent their voices in Season 2, including Chloe Bennet, Rob Delaney, Jay Pharoah, Cliff Curtis, Lea Thompson, Peter Cullen, Sterling K. Brown, Ben Schwartz, Josh Keaton, Tim Robinson, and many more. And finally, the clip shows J. K. Simmons’ Omni-Man, who tells Mark, “You should have died at birth.” That’s one way to treat your son.

Fans have waited over two years to get their hands on the show’s sophomore entry. Now, they will get Season 2 on Prime Video on November 3. Meanwhile, let’s talk about some possible plot points that may become a part of the forthcoming season.

Origins of Angstrom Levy

Showrunner Robert Kirkman revealed some time ago that Season 2 would primarily concentrate on Angstrom Levy, a supervillain with powers to travel through multiple dimensions. In the comics, Levy is a genius scientist born with the ability to open green swirling portals to alternate dimensions. But here’s the catch! When he opens portals, he does not know which alternate reality he is entering and does not teleport. In other words, his coordinates do not change despite travelling through different dimensions. A cool power to trick your adversaries, if you ask us.

Levy’s goal in the comics is to collect the knowledge of hundreds of his counterparts or variants in the Multiverse to make his interdimensional travel safe. He breaks out the Mauler Twins and takes their help to achieve his goal.

Sequids will return

Season 1 showed the parasitic Sequids gaining complete control of Mars and setting their sights on Earth. Their arrival will certainly alarm Mark and the Guardians. Only those heroes will last against them who are tough enough to nullify their mind-controlling tendrils. Mark does the same in Season 1, thanks to his Viltrumite powers. Sequids’ invasion of Earth may give Lizard League, an evil team of lizard-themed supervillains led by King Lizard, a chance to take control over Earth’s nuclear power. The members of the Guardians who are not capable of fighting Sequids will protect their planet from the Lizard League.

Allen the Alien’s backstory

Yes, we will see more of Seth Rogen’s Allen the Alien in Season 2. Viewers may witness his backstory about how he was genetically designed and bred to fight Viltrum. In addition, they may even watch Allen dropping a visit to his home planet, which also harbours the members of the Coalition of Planets, led by their mysterious leader, Thaedus.

Besides Levy, Thaedus may emerge as one of the most intriguing characters in Season 2. Thaedus is a former Viltrumite. However, he realised that the Viltrumites’ manner of taking over a planet was cruel and tyrannical, forcing him to betray his own race and start rebelling against the Viltrumite Empire.

Mark vs Cecil

Season 2 will also focus on the ideological and moral conflict between Mark and Cecil, ultimately affecting the former’s opinions on justice. During the final moments of Season 1, Cecil allows Sinclair to commence the mass production of Reanimen (a type of zombie cyborg super soldiers) contingency troops, a scenario that may add fuel to Mark and Cecil’s conflict.

Invincible Season 2 will arrive on Prime Video on November 3. Stay tuned for more updates.
