Prime Video’s ‘Poacher’ Trailer Hints At Sensational Crime Drama

Prime Video India has just dropped the first full-fledged trailer for its upcoming crime drama series ‘Poacher’. The series premieres on Prime Video worldwide on 23rd February, 2024.

‘Poacher’ is reportedly based on true events, and comes from the stables of Richie Mehta, the creator of Netflix’s blockbuster series ‘Delhi Crime’. Like the latter, ‘Poacher’ has also been created with all the elements of a hard-hitting crime drama. But this time, the victims are the gentle giants of the forests, that is elephants. Yes, Poacher is centred on the large-scale poaching of elephants for their ivory, and is set in the backdrop of the deep jungles of southern India.

The trailer for ‘Poacher’ shows breathtaking visuals in the verdant greenery of Indian jungles. Juxtaposed with the surreal beauty is a terrible reality – the killings of elephants by greedy poachers. A team of cops get after the poachers, but soon they realise that the smuggling cartel is massive and spread across countries. A shady lady warns that there’s arms, drugs and human trafficking involved in the racket too.

The pace and urgency of the trailer is riveting, the cinematography mesmerising. If the Poacher trailer is an accurate hint of things to come, then audiences can expect a gripping edge-of-the-seat drama on 23rd February, 2024.

Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Roshan Mathew and Nimisha Sajayan play the cops in ‘Poacher’. Richie Mehta has created, written and directed ‘Poacher’. The series is produced by QC Entertainment, the production and finance company behind Oscar-winning movies, Jordan Peele’s ‘Get Out’ and Spike Lee’s ‘BlacKkKlansman’. Poacher will be the first series ever from QC Entertainment.
