Prime Video’s The Boys S3 Poster: Laser Eyes, Full Hearts, F*ck Supes

The upcoming season of The Boys promises major upheaval. The official handle of The Boys released a new poster for the series which changes everything on what to expect from the third season of the show. It shows Billy Butcher with laser eyes just like the superhero Homelander.

The show is about a team of vigilantes – The Boys – led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) who fight superheroes – The Supes – who abuse their abilities. However, they are at a disadvantage and remain underdogs due to lack of any superpowers or abilities. But it seems like things are about to change as Karl Urban’s character seems to have acquired some kind of superpower. Check out the post below:

The twitter account of The Boys has also updated the status to reflect this new development. It now reads – ‘Laser Eyes, Full Hearts, F*ck Supes’. The Boys is a tv series developed by Eric Kripke for Amazon Prime Video. It is based on a comic book of the same name which was originally published by DC Comics under their Wildstorm imprint before moving to Dynamite Entertainment. Season 3 of the show is set to premiere on 03 June 2022 with fans awaiting the release of the full trailer. No date has been set for the release of the full trailer of season 3 but it’s release should be round the corner.

The series in its first two season had an ensemble cast that includes, apart from Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, and Karen Fukuhara as the vigilantes, and Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher, and Nathan Mitchell as members of the “Seven”, an official superhero group.

For season 3, there has been one major addition. Supernatural star Jensen Ackles, who will play the role of Soldier Boy (a Captain America Parody apparently), joins the existing cast members.

The third season of the show was renewed before the premiere of the second season. Season 2 of the show was nominated at the Emmys for Outstanding Drama series in 2021 and the show remains one of the biggest franchises for Amazon Prime Video.

It seems the boys – or at least Billy Butcher – have had a taste of Compound V, a serum that mutates normal human beings into beings with extraordinary abilities i.e. superpowers. This will certainly level the playing field between the two opposing groups – the vengeance seeking Boys and the corrupt Supes. In an interview, Jack Quaid (who plays the role of one of the boys – Hughie) had promised things are “more messed up” in season 3. This update surely messes things up.

Season 1 and 2 of The Boys is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
