Prime Video has launched the trailer for its upcoming new original web series ‘Ziddi Girls’ and this stale old drama is just way too chaotic and dramatic. Coming from the creators of ‘Four More Shots Please!’, ‘Ziddi Girls’ will premiere only on Prime Video on 27th February, 2025.
A coming-of-age drama, ‘Ziddi Girls’ is set in an elite college called Matilda House which was once known for producing reputed individuals who went on to become assets of society. But now the situation is pretty bad and all that’s going on in this educational institution is pretty sexual. As expected the management steps in, puts in measures to make things right and bring back the lost glory of Matilda House.
‘Ziddi Girls’ might tout to be about taking control, expressing yourself and forming those lifetime bonds but what it does more is centring it all around physical desires. The show looks crowded and aimless.
There is nothing exciting about ‘Ziddi Girls’ and the sexual exploration aspect that is highlighted the most in the trailer is something that has been seen multiple times and there is no novelty in that. Also, the booze and sex part used to show the elite culture is just too stereotypical and boring now.
Infact an overall lack of newness in ‘Ziddi Girls’ is quite conspicuous. The makes have tried to squeeze in a variety of things into the show including student’s rebellion Vs management’s responsibility, clashing ideologies and search for one’s identity and still it is all old ideas packed in a new shiny box and nothing more.
