Tomorrow, on 29th October 2021, the Prithviraj starrer, ‘Star‘, makes its way to theatres in Kerala. This movie will be the first Malayalam film to release in theatres since the second lockdown took place back in April, across the State. However, this film will create another record upon release and it surprisingly works as an OTT record as well – Prithviraj will become the first Malayalam actor to release a film in theatres after his previous three releases were on an OTT platform.
Prithviraj had previously made headlines with his recently released Andhadhun remake, ‘Bhramam’ – which made it his third back-to-back film to release on an OTT platform this year – equalling Fahadh Faasil’s record. He also became the first Malayalam actor to release three films directly for streaming on Amazon Prime Video with the aforementioned film. And now with ‘Star’, he will become the first Malayalam actor to release a film theatrically after being a part of a series of films that were released one after the other on an OTT platform.
There is also a good chance that Prithviraj is the first Indian actor to release a film in theatres after his previous three films were released on Amazon Prime Video. The actor has managed to make a name for himself among the pan-Indian Amazon Prime subscribers and this should translate to his theatrical releases as well. While ‘Star’ is a different film, compared to the rest that came out this year, we expect him to shine in this film just as brightly as he did in his previous three outings this year.
Check out the upcoming supernatural horror thriller, ‘Star’ when it releases in theatres tomorrow.
