Prithviraj Sukumaran and Roshan Mathew starrer ‘Kuruthi’ is coming to Amazon Prime Video. The Malayalam language political thriller is set for a direct-to-digital release on Amazon Prime Video on 11th August, 2021.
‘Kuruthi’ was earlier scheduled to release in theatres in May but got delayed due to COVID-19 imposed restrictions. Having waited long enough the producers have now decided to go for the OTT route. ‘Kuruthi’ marks the debut feature film of director Manu Warrier who had earlier made indie film ‘Coffee Bloom’.
Amazon Prime Video announced the release date of the film with a poster featuring the star cast of the film in their character avatars surrounding a police jeep with a backdrop of a jungle. Prithviraj with a few blood stains on his face and shirt, is sitting in the front conveying intensity with his eyes like none other. On the other hand, we have Roshan Mathew and others with intriguing looks on their faces.

‘Kuruthi’ is a revenge thriller drama with a stellar star cast that includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, Roshan Mathew, Murali Gopy, Shine Tom Chacko, Mamukkoya, Srindaa, Manikanda Rajan, Naslen Gafoor, Sagar Surya and Navas Vallikkunnu.
Supriya Menon under the banner of Prithviraj Productions has produced the film written by Anish Pallyal. Abinandhan Ramanujan has handled the cinematography for the film with music form Jakes Bejoy.
‘Kuruthi’ will be Prithviraj’s second film after crime thriller supernatural horror film ‘Cold Case’, to go for a digital release on Amazon Prime Video. It will also be the second digital collaboration of Roshan Mathew with the global streaming platform following Fahadh Faasil starrer ‘C U Soon’. Mathew was also seen in ’Kappela’ on Netflix after its short theatrical run last year.
