‘Professor’ Àlvaro Morte In ‘Talkies’, Again By Money Heist Director

Àlvaro Morte of ‘Money Heist’ fame is returning as the lead in one more series. Money Heist director Alex Rodrigo himself will be helming this project and their partnership will most probably give one more global superhit. The show is co-produced by Catalonia’s ‘Veranda’ and will most probably available in English, Spanish and many other languages.

‘Talkies’ is the tribute to cinema in the 30s and it will deal with cinema and people related to it. It will tell the story of the time when foreign language versions and original English language films were shot on the same sets long before the innovation of dubbing and subtitling. The making of Spanish ‘talkies’, which were considered to be superior in terms of art and aesthetics, will be the theme of the show.

Producer Gato Grande who has previously provided something extraordinary like ‘Luis Miguel: The Series’. The bi-lingual company has 55 upcoming projects and ‘Talkies’ is one of the 5 with Spanish roots.

Considering Àlvaro Morte’s wide recognition and success as a global actor with ‘Money Heist’ it is not too much to ask for a huge acceptance for success of Talkies too. But the theme for Money Heist had a far more appealing nature in its theme. Heist and thief-police genre has attracted audience since the very birth of cinema. But the making of cinema itself has not been dealt with enough in movies and shows. The theme is experimental in nature even though there are great stories related to it. ‘Talkies’ is something to be handled carefully and it depends largely on Àlvaro Morte’s stardom and his partnership with the director.
