Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar’s ‘Gandhada Gudi‘ is the month’s most anticipated release from the Kannada film industry. Now, as per reports, the docudrama’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been acquired by Prime Video.
The docudrama is a true-to-life, multilingual feature film directed by National Award winner Amoghavarsha. The trailer sees Puneeth Rajkumar, fondly called Appu, shed all his stardom and set out on a journey with Amoghavarsha to discover new stories and unravel secrets in a whole new immersive cinematic experience. The trailer was a truly emotional ride for fans of the beloved Powerstar. It took us all on a ride with breathtaking visuals and Puneeth’s innocent questions and fun moments. From stars like Yash to dignitaries like PM Narendra Modi, many offered their best wishes to the endeavor.
The film will be Puneet’s final appearance upon his untimely death. Set to release a day before Puneeth’s first death anniversary on October 29, the makers are fulfilling the Powerstar’s dream of bringing ‘Gandhada Gudi’ to the theatres.
The feature’s official description reads: “Gandhada Gudi is an epic musical celebration of our blessed land, precious culture, and incredible stories at an unprecedented scale. Complete with songs and the beauty of nature, it’s a family entertainer”. As a fan opined, the film truly feels like a fantastic tribute to the departed soul, who was an exceptional human being.
‘Gandhada Gudi – Journey of A True Hero’ is produced by the late star’s wife Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar under the PRK Production banner. The movie is set to release in theatres on October 28th, followed by its digital premiere in Prime Video, and will be released on the platform in 3 languages- Hindi, Kannada, and English.
