A Reminder folks, Out of Love season 2 is releasing today on Hotstar VIP and at the same occasion, let’s talk about the leading man of the revenge drama himself, Purab Kohli.
But to begin with, Out of Love season 1 revolved around a young couple Akarsh Kapoor, played by Purab Kohli and Doctor Meera, portrayed by Rasika Duggal. Now, in their simple life, things go haywire when Meera found out Akarsh was cheating on her behind her back. Now as we know season 2 will pick up after 3 years of the events of season 1, we can’t wait for more twisted storyline and more drama on hand.
Now, as we were talking about Purab Kohli. A supremely talented and highly underrated, that’s what we think of him. It’s hard to believe that this actor has been around since 1998 when he started his career in the teenage drama series ‘Hip Hip Hurray’ on Zee TV and immediately made a name for himself as VJ for Channel V. But when it comes to films, Kohli travelled a long way and crossed a lot of different paths. Granted some lead to successful venture, some may be not-so-successful but along the way he proved himself every single time when he was given the actor’s batton, be it critically acclaimed My Brother Nikhil or Wo Lamhe, be it Farhan Akhtar’s musical series Rock On or be it off-bit yet award winning ventures such as I Am or Jal.
Now there are a lot of scenarios, we see talented actors don’t really get utilized in the way they should be. But that never stopped Purab Kohli to emerge as one of the most versatile actors in the country. Recently he was featured in OTT contents such Typewriter and London Confidential. He also went international in 2015 with American web series Sense8 along with other compatriots Anupam Kher and Tina Desai. He is currently occupied with shooting of crime thriller ‘Blind’ being directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
Now if we talk about Out of Love season 2, Kohli raised the excitement more as he said, ‘’Revenge is definitely not simmering. It simmered between the two seasons. Now he (Akarsh) wants to go full throttle. He steps in as a sweet tasting dish and then as you move along the episodes you realise there is a fire raging within. He is there for revenge and that affects Meera’s actions. She’s not Miss Goody two-shoes either. By the end she too is going for the jugular. That makes the drama so exciting and intense and that excitement draws them to each other.’’
So now, to conclude, Purab Kohli, one of the most talented and yet-to-be-completely-explored actors is gearing up for this new season of Out of Love 2 and so we are.
