The COVID Second Wave has made a mess of the release plans of all the films. Telugu films will announce their release plan only after theaters in both the Telugu states open. Meanwhile, things will be even tough for Pan-India releases which need normalcy across the country for the release.
Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa and Yash’s KGF 2 may be in for a huge postponement. With theaters re-opening across the country to take a while, the makers are eyeing Christmas releases for the films. By then, all the backlogs in other languages will be cleared as well. So, Christmas is the best time to release, the makers think. But then, it is not possible for both the films to clash given the interests in Telugu states. So, only one of these two films will have to release.
This year Christmas falls on Saturday. The first weekend holidays and the New Year holidays (December 31st and January 1st) will arrive in the first week run benefiting the films that release on the eve of Christmas. So, Christmas special release is a good choice. As of now, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha is also eyeing Christmas Release which means tough competition in the North markets.
